What they do |
| They
are small computers that can be easily carried with you everywhere
you go. |

Quality to consider before purchasing one |
1) Display. A dispaly of excellent quality is essential, otherwise
text and images will be slightly out of focus, coulours washed out
and you will be unable to work comfortably. You will also need to
put the dispay at an appropriate angle to see it.
2) Performance. This can vary according to your need. Nevertheless,
you'd better have a video card with a dedicated RAM and at least 512
RAM for the pc. In addition, if you aim for the best quality and
performance, go for a 7200 Hard Drive (possibly with Intel Mobile
Pentium-M processor with Centrino technology).
3) Weight and dimensions. As we'll be carrying the laptop around, we
have ensure that both its weight and dimensions are right for us.
These will vary according to personal need. However, a would suggest
a weight below 3.5 Kg.
4) Autonomy. With some current models, autonomy lasts for 3 or more
hours (sometimes up to 4 hours). Unless your laptop has a reasonable
autonomy, you'll be forced to use a main power point.

|
The cost of a good laptop is between 1200 and 2300 USD, depending on
dimensions and characteristics. You can find cheaper ones if you
don't mind to giving up to a good amount of performance, including a
good video card. |
