| This has been in my top 10 magic
list for years. This is probably the
best application to remove spyware
and other rubbish that has been
installed on our pc. As usual, you
have to know what you are doing when
you remove spyware otherwise some
applications may not work
afterwards.

| For a few years the only free
software able to remove spyware has
become commercial, although it still
gives the option for a free download
version. The free version is no
longer as good as Spybot, however it
is still respectable.

XP Antispy |
| MS has integrated some tools and
services into the system, that
automatically can connect to the
internet without noticing you about
it. Nobody knows what's possible to
transfer from your computer to the
connected servers via these
services. So if you want to stop
these services, you can do this
manually and take a walk through XP,
or you use this tool of only 220 kb.

Pest Patrol
(shareware) |
| Currently probably the best
available software to remove
spyware. Updated very frequently, it
protects your pc in many ways using
different modules, including one in
'real time'. It is definetely
complete, and does its job very
well, recognising and removing
spyware which other applications
(including Spybot) have not
identified. However, you have to pay
for it ($40) and the version that
you download for free does NOT allow
you to remove spyware but only to
identify it.

The Panic Button
(shareware) |
| Application that protects your
privacy. It is just a simple button
(of which you even choose the look)
which when it is clicked it
eliminates instantly all the open
windows on our deskstop (and if you
wish, it can replace them with
another application of our choice).
It costs more or less 10 Euros.
