Divx to DVD conversion

The
Film Machine
TheFilmMachine allows to convert easily the divxes
in DVD, with a good graphical user interface.
The use is very simple (you need only to make a few
clicks). The algorithms of encoding used for the
conversion in DVD are freeware and of good quality
(HCenc and Quenc), at least about results, even if
the speed is quite slow (we cannot be have
everything).
In substance they do a good job, but the time of
conversion is generally 3-4 times superior to a
shareware app like WinAvi, or almost double than
ConvertXtoDVD.
In any case, who looks for the quality will
certainly be satisfied.

Avi2DVD
Avi2DVD
allows to convert from divx or xvid with AVI
extension, OGM, MKV (included subtitles) to DVD. It
uses some free mpeg2 encoders(besides the
possibility to choose the excellent and expensive
CCE), and that is QuEnc, FreeEnc, NuEnc, HC. The
speed of these encoderses is not equal to that of
ConvertXtoDVD, nevertheless the results are very
good. FreeEnc for example - if used with 1 pass only
- gives acceptable results, and the speed of
conversion is practically in real time with a
processor of 3 GHZs (that is a video of 100 minutes
will be converted in about 100 minutes).
If we are looking for superior results, all it
takes is choosing QuEnc or HCenc and we will be
satisfied (need twice the time to econde, anyway).
Avi2DVD succeeds in also converting to DVD video
from less diffused formats, for example x264 with
audio AAC (and perfectly syncronizing the
subtitles), provided that these video can be seen on
our pc.
If the divx is splitted in 2 parts, the DVD will
automatically be joined. The audio is excellent. If
in the divx there are multiple audio tracks for
different languages, on the DVD there will be
multiple audio tracks.

D2MP
The
graphical user interface is not the top (the GUI of
TheFilmMachine is by far better, for example), it
doesn't have a human name, at the first impact it
seems a very rough apop, an only one only algorithm
of encoding (QuEnc) is available.
Yet... d2MP succeeds in converting in DVD in
excellent way, even with completely different
videos (thing that unfortunately Avi2DVD and The
FilmMachine don't do): it does not join the DVDs,
but creates a new menu of the DVD, where starting
all the videos. The results are very good.
If you have to convert more divxes in a DVD, this
app is for you. If you have to convert an only divx
instead (or splitted in more parts) and don't have
problems to wait some minutes more (or you have even
a processor MlutiCore), then you can choose Avi2DVD
or The FilmMachine, to have a slightly better video
quality.
