LeechGet is a download manager that uses a very nice user interface and seamlessly integrates into Internet Explorer, allowing you to easily start and manage your downloads.

In addition, LeechGet provides many features, such automatic downloading, resume of broken downloads, a download timer, automatic hang-up and shutdown and more. LeechGet also provides a history of your downloaded files, sorted by day, week and month. Additional features include a file drop icon, a speed monitor and more.

It is free and does not install spyware. With the freeware version you can download up to 8 files a simultaneously. If you want to download more, you have to register for there shareware version.

Open Source Download Manager. It allows you to conduct several concurrent downloads from different sources optimizing speed and giving you the option of interrupting and resuming the download at a later stage. The graphic interface is not the best; however, the benefit is that this application does not install spyware or other rubbish on our pc.

Great application for downloads, with nice graphic interface. Easy to use and very efficient. Its shortcoming is that it contains lots of spyware, which must be taken off with one of the appropriate applications such as Spybot (or similar). I can recommend it, but only if you get rid of the spyware.

Star Downloader (freeware/shareware)
It used to be one of my favourite download manager, but unfortunately the last few versions have only been developed as shareware (that is you have to pay for it) whilst the older version (which is still available) is still free. It is a valid application and it does its job well.
