| Great free antivirus. It is
updated very frequently, it's
'light' and does not take up too
many resources of the pc (unlike
several other commercial antivirus
software which considerably slow
down our pc). Very easy to install
and configure, really very
efficient. Fast, and does
not require a lot of pc resources.
Anyway, there are no automatic
updates: you have to click on it to
update.
Achieved a
good rank in Antivirus test of
October 2004.

source code at no cost. Its

The Virus Database is updated on a
regular basis and almost immediately

Windows Explorer; Addin to Microsoft
Outlook. A good free antivirus,
without real-time scan.

at any moment you'd like), skinnable
interface, immediate and scheduled
scanning and more. It is one of
the fastest antivirus on the market.
Like Antivir PE, achieved a good
rank in
Antivirus Test.
Anyway, DOES NOT protect in real
time.

Avast! free |
Avast is a very good free antivirus,
with many useful features, like
standard resident protection,
heuristic analysis (even of emails),
automatic updates, antivirus kernel
with good detection abilities.
Not too fast in scanning (Antivir PE
and BitDefender 7 are faster by
far), can be considered a good
choice.
